Some of our customers were affected by a Net2Phone outage yesterday and today. Since they don't have a NOC site of their own at this time (something we're asking them to implement), we figured we'd post an update here for customers and let them know the status of the outage.

Net2Phone System Status

Dear Valued Customer,

As you know, net2phone is currently one of the fastest growing UCaaS providers, and it's thanks to valued partners like you, that we are able to continue this growth.

As you may be aware, we recently had an issue which we believe resulted from our upgrade over the weekend, causing some of your customers to experience problems with incoming and outgoing calls. There was an issue with one of our SIP nodes processing some of its packets, which caused our PBX nodes to intermittently lock up.  While this was not a complete outage, we understand that several of your customers were affected and we deeply apologize. Rest assured our development and engineer team has analyzed the node and has taken the actions necessary to prevent this from happening in the future.

We will continue to monitor and analyze our system and appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to grow.  We truly value your partnership and it is our ultimate goal to provide you and your customers with the best possible service and support.

Sincerely,

The net2phone team

END OF REPORT

That's all we know at the moment. From what we know from talking to others, they performed an upgrade at 2 AM on Saturday. Apparently something happened with failover that caused one of their nodes to lock up. They addressed the problem on Monday and got things working again, but something related to load-balancing the nodes on Tuesday caused the issues experienced today. According to their team, as you can see above, they've figured out how to stop it from happening in the future we hope.
